Fixing uPVC Windows with foam

Postby claynlr » Sun May 14, 2017 6:29 am

Here's a new one for the board....A guy I work with installed his uPVC windows on his home in Kosovo using only foam. Not "expandable" foam but "fixing" foam. No screws. Going on 8 years and no problems. Googled it and lo and behold, many have done this. Yeah I understand the security issue with taking a hand saw and being able to remove the window, but after render who would know? Never heard of this before.

Yea sure it works. But its dodgy as it comes. I wopuldnt try to emulate this bit of stupidity.
Any strong wind situation and it will fly. I would hate to see what the water ingress is like around the window in heavy rain. Only compensation is that the window wont move during an earth quake.
Stick it into your funniest home videos, thats where this idea belongs.
