Polymer Dam Sealing

Postby SOC » Wed Dec 23, 2015 5:50 pm

I have a block In Bongti with a large dam, 8m deep, 10 wide, 15 long at the top. About 4 yrs old and has not settled and wont hold water. The ground is clay, basalt stone and crumbly. Thought of lining it, thought of concrete and dont really think either is a good idea. Am asking if anyone has tried any sealants, polymer, flocs etc. Was hoping to do it the easy way and use a polymer that can be used while the dam is filling and leaking. Any advice is welcome and who to contact for the polymers.

You say you already dismissed going the concrete or lining route for your dam without elaborating. I explored a few options and finally settled on lining with HDPE for my pond 3m deep and about 30 x 20 irregular shape, one year on I'm very pleased with the results indeed.

Good luck with whatever choice you go for.
