Re: Any recourse against slow builder?

This is probably one of the most frustrating things about building in Thailand. But before anyone starts to jump in with the refrain that it also happens in the West, true, but at least in our home countries we have some recourse. If not the law then word of mouth warnings to others. Here in Thailan...

Re: Written Agreement with a Lawyer

See a lawyer but generally in Thailand agreements between husband and wife are useless, since in a breakup and subsequent divorce the relevant community property laws will have precedence No matter who contributed what, the split will be 50 / 50, especially since you are doing this now, after the ma...

Re: Building permits

I could never find out if a building permit was required for the issuance of a blue book or not. In my case the building permit was issued by the Na Jomtien Tessaban but the blue book (house registration / address) was issued by the Sattahip Amphur. What I do know is that I was never required to sho...

Re: Persue builder with laywer or not ?

No, it is not worth hiring a lawyer here in Thailand. In the western world where they will work on a contingency basis it is worth it, but here in Thailand all that will happen is you will just be throwing good money after bad

Re: I don't see the option to delete files from My Gallery

Thank you for posting a new gallery since I was sick and tired of seeing my uncompleted driveway every time I went to the forum picture gallery since December My solution to the deletion problem is to open the picture and on the bottom pick Crop and Rotate , which will open the picture in the editor...

Re: Leasing Land and Work Permit.

As part of the question I asked, I just want to work on land and other activities, that is reason for work permit, which may prove not possible. A Company registration needed only if I can work at what I want to, not for ownership of anything. You are talking about two separate issues here, the firs...

Re: employers liability insurance

Since most lawyers will not work on a contingency basis here in Thailand there really is no ambulance chasing culture so I really question the need for liability insurance (if you can even get it here) Are you going to contribute to your workers social security fund ? Are you going to buy them healt...

Re: picture upload limit

Just have sympathy for our members that don't have high speed connections when you choose a size

Since everyone is looking at them on a computer the max resolution of most computer screens should be your size goal

Bigger is not necessarily better

Re: slow forum

Opposite for me, when in the US, CTH takes forever to load, here it loads 100% faster

In fact, when I am having trouble connecting to sites outside of Thailand I try CTH to determine if the problem is with my Internet connection or with the international gateway

forum question: will a usafruct entitle privilaged to a yellow or blue book for house constructed on such property? Depends upon your amphur , since the usufruct is annotated on the back of the chanote you should be able to get a yellow book for the house but as a non Thai, you will never get your ...
