The workers have stopped and are taking a break, most likely "in mourning" for this week :  I pay these three sleepers (under the bench) a good daily wage, disappointed.

The new tape measure looks "Rooted"

Kitchen block work is proceeding, almost done and I actually got my two holes in the wall for the Hood exhaust. :D Lets just hope they are at the correct height

Appear to have some electrical conduits on that rear kitchen wall location, for the power supply to the 2 Hoods and also the GPO's on that wall. The electrical conduits on the outer side of the doorway to the kitchen are for external light fittings & associated switches

So far so good, looks like a good start. Fingers crossed

Kitchen shell is complete, so will take a break for a few weeks

Will start the guttering, eave linings & internal wall tiling, when I am back in Thailand in three weeks. Then move onto selecting the granite bench top, stone/ceramic flooring and glass/door assemblies. :(

Will probably go to Boonthavorn in Udon Thani for most of the stone & ceramic wall-floor finishes, as they have a large range to choose from.

The last thing I will do is the kitchen cabinets.

Last time I was in Boonthavorn, I looked at wall and floor finishes. They really do have a very good range to select from :D

For inside finishes, I will probably go for a,
Marble polished look on the walls (90x60cm)
More conservative Slate (45x90cm semi anti slip) look on the floors

I love the tile selection nice large opulent tiles are you swaying to the whites for the wall and contrasting with a darker floor tile?

Hi and yes pretty much so, like the attached Concept, with a mainly white, neutral look wall tile. These Marble Experience look tiles are TB 800 a tile (TB 1480 per m2) at Boonthavorn, but similar ones are TB 649 per tile (TB 1,200 per m2) at Homepro. Homepro also has a 120cm x 60cm marble look tile, but choices are limited. Boonthavorn has by far the best range of choices

The mainly white wall will allow me some flexibility to pick from a range of granite colors for the bench top and then a color for the cabinets at a later date. Just having trouble trying to decide on the granite bench top color.

At this stage I am going for one of the two Marble look wall tiles on the right of the picture, in a (90x60cm) in this wall pattern.

Anyway, back in Udon two days time to select the wall tiles and granite :D but only staying for 4 days :(

Hi Fubaro,

I don't actually have a Builder. I just hire in a few guys who have some reasonably good skills and then show them what to do

Inside view of unfinished Kitchen

Decided to throw a few more double GPO's in (P - Pink) and also a TV Point, plus provision for an AC Unit above the TV.

Some of the Yellow paint marking, represents,
1.Chopping out a recess in the wall for the Circuit Breaker Panel Board
2.Chopping back the bench end leg which is out of square

This next month is all about
Doing the wall tiling to the two main walls
Installing the internal ceiling and external eave linings
Painting outside walls, along with ceiling & eaves
Chopping out the recesses/holes in the concrete bench top, for the cook tops and the sink
Grinding and painting steel window support beams
Installing gutters & DP

Bit of a repeat post

Kitchen Cook Tops/Hob: Marked the cutouts for the kitchen cook top (Hobs).
Don't have to cut out the full area, all the way through, just make a 50mm deep recess so as to set the Hob into it.
Do need to make one small hole (100x 100mm (all the way through) but only for the gas pipe connection

Wall Tiling Set Out: Left the mud maps (wall tile set out drawings) for the guys to follow

Electrical Panel Board: Hope they chop out to recess in the wall my breaker panel board

OK have the electricians back, adding some GPO's, a TV Point and a AC Supply point, plus wiring in above the ceiling. So far so good

The Ceiling Man's price was TB 27,000 for the labour and some minor sundry materials (as I bought most materials last week) and that is to do 31 m2 of internal ceiling (green board with foil back) and 32 m2 of external eaves lining (6m cement board), plus he will install the bracket support for the Mr Ken ceiling fan.

It averages out to TB 428 per m2, and it has has a perimeter drop down area, with a 100 mm higher step up in the center. Maybe the price is a bit high, but WTF, I am not there, I need it done right and I have used this guy before. :D

His work is good quality, no lines/dips in the ceilings, tapes & sets all the joints and properly sands its down.
