26th January

No construction yesterday and today as rain and cold weather stopped play, however we visited our roof company.

Found!! Trolleys

We found a crane company.
The prices that they want are stupid

image.jpg
We only charge ฿100,000 for this crane

Trolley cost ฿3,450
I beam cost ฿6,000 for 6 metres
profit about ฿80,000!!!

If they were to make our designed crane they want ฿80,000 for labor and delivery only, plus tax

Even worse I had forgotten that they had not included delivery and labor costs in the mini crane prices so it would have been about ฿170,000

Wow :)

I don't come here often, this project is much further along than I thought :)

STWW, are you sure that a 15/45 supply is going to be big enough for your mansion and 'hobby'?

Hi Crossy,

Thanks for stopping by

The answer is a big Hummmmm,

The 30/100 meter is about 3 times the cost of a 15/45.

We will be wiring for the 30A meter anyway, so an upgrade would only need a new meter and larger incoming breaker.

The PEA will deduct the cost of the 15A meter if we need to upgrade to the 30A supply, so the total cost of going small then getting an upgrade would only be the second call out for the PEA. We don't loose the cost of the 15A meter.

I'm still undecided, but have a month and more before having to make a final choice.

27th January: still in Bangkok so no more construction pictures today instead it was a visit to Khun Mint at Häfel to look at doors and to see what is in the 50% discount bins.

Is it high enough?

Door weight is from 60kg to 250kg depending on the tracks

The discount bins had some short black draw slides at ฿30 per set so 10 of them decided to come with me. I don't have a specific plan for them but small parts in the workshop or spices in the kitchen spring to mind.

Aren't you getting bored that everything is going by the book? lol

Looks great. Very curious to see the finished result.. As undoubtedly you will be as well.

Hi Luc

There have been a few small mistakes

Interesting use of straps

Nailed flat to the post!!

However they only got 3 blocks high before I spotted the problem

The site supervisor knew what to do but wasn't checking his workers

Looking good STWW! A few questions:
1. What dimension are your rafters spaced?
2. What did you use for the purlins that the roof steel will be attached to?
3. Was a steel sub fascia welded to your rafter tails before the decorative fascia is attached?
