Hello al ,

My name is Paul and my gf name is Narumon we are going to build a house sometime in the amphoe of Ban Fang .
Bought 1 3/4 rai of land for the gf and backfilled about 1100 square meter .

There are several members within 100Km of you or who go shopping in Khon Kaen so may be able to help (though I don't know who Al is :D ). I guess that you are near R12.

Welcome Popup! As usual we give you the same advice, read ,read, it's mostly all there, been there, done that, with all the problems and mistakes that can be avoided with hind sight ,and this forum provides that. "Up to you" as the Thai's like to say.

That looks like a good type of fill material. Did you arrange the fill yourself and if so can I ask how much per m3 approximately you paid for the fill?

Thanks pipoz ,

The gf took care of that and we paid about 230 or 250 baht for a truckload .
These are the trucks ,
Part of the land was already backfilled but we needed another 250 or so truckloads to get it at the correct level .

That's pretty good as I paid 220-250 8 years ago for that normal reddish stuff that is good for building on as it goes very hard, O.K. for garden now after a lot of turning over as well.

Thanks and do you now if that was for a six or a ten wheeler truck load

Just that up my way they are looking for about TB 450 per 6 wheel truck load and TB 800 per 10 wheel truck load, for the better fill material

I will be over at the site in about two weeks and have a look at what quality it is (How do one know the good or the not so good material ??) , and find out what kind of trucks they used but they look like 6 wheel trucks to me .
The guy who did it was an old school friend of the gf if you want i can give you his phonenumber when i get there , maybe he operates in your area to ..
I am about 30 minutes west of Khon Kaen city .

Turned over about 4 times with neighbours growing different grass each time while we were away. 40 trees put in all around fence line ,Coconuts/ banana etc; but took a lot of watering over the years using neighbours dam, have dug out my own dam last April , full up already I'am told. 5 Mango trees put in 2 years ago had masses of fruit this year. :D :D

Finally an update ,

Build a small shed for the security of a deep well pump ( bought one that was to big :? , then I bought one that broke down  I bought another one (300 w Hitachi 300 GX PJ) which is according to the guy who installed it the best you can buy !!!!
Build a water tower that holds 2 X 2000 liter tanks who are connected to the deep well see photos attached .
Can only be there short times communication is to difficult when you are outside that beautiful country .
