Where to buy handheld propane torch

Postby patekatek » Thu Apr 11, 2013 5:55 pm

I would like to know if anyone on this forum has seen a hand-held propane torch kit for sale. Bernzomatic is a really popular one in the U.S. However, I have never seen them for sale over here. Anyone have any suggestions regarding where to purchase in Thailand?

Thanks!

Don't know where you are located, but if you have a True Value store anywhere near you they should have them

I say should since their web site uses a pix of what you want to designate their welding section

Here is the url:

Thanks, Shastashad. I will have to locate one of their branches. I did visit their web site and it appears Bangkok and Pattaya are my only reasonable choices since there don't appear to be any around Hua Hin nor Cha Am.
Again, I appreciate your response and I will have to remember that there are True Value stores over here.

Best regards,

I would think they are available in hardware stores maybe if you can show them a picture you might be lucky, the True value store in Pattaya has down sized quite a bit recently and not sure if they have them or not, if I get chance I will check for you. There used ot be a True value store in Bang Sean but not sure if it is still open as I have not been for a few years now.[*] :D

If anyone sees one of the Bernzomatic type torches, please let me know where you saw it.

Thanks!

Don't waste your time at hardware stores, they don't have this sort of thing. True Value I could see might be an exception. I found both torch heads for small butane camping type canisters as well as heads with tubing that attach to regular propane tanks in China town Bangkok. As always is the case in China town, it took a considerable amount of shoe leather to find them however.

Bought one today at Pattaya Hardware in Banglamung, between Banglamung PO and Naklua rd, close to Naklua Rd. Gas shop opposite had them as well, little more expensive - 1400 THB vs 1300.

These are the torch, handpiece, & hose that screws directly into BYO LPG bottle. Brand HARRA, 1" is 1,300 but other sizes (larger) & prices -
