No. It's obviously the kid in deliverance. Or bob dylan. Does it have to be lead guitar?

Now I would have entered this argument with a vengeance, however, the quality of the sound and video on Youtube of my favourite solo guitarist, who can't even read music I might add, is pathetic. All the older videos of his best performances I can't find, because they've been replace with phone videos. The performer is surprisingly Glen Campbell and the solo performance is of "The Lone Ranger theme" or as it was originally called: The William Tell Overture. If you disregard the poor quality videos and sound, he's the only person able to play the guitar "in all positions", including on his head.
Here's the reference page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8BjMGhMRLU and don't forget he's 75 years old and has dementia.

Remarkable for a guy of his age and situation.

Why anyone should choose the guitar for that piece is beyond me but the boy done good.

Some old guys can still do it ... slower piece but far more intricate:

disqualified! mind altering drugs. if the old boy sitting on his stool above had been taking anything like what hendrix was taking he'd have hopping about on the ceiling. and at that stage still once again too then the more obvious winner. It's all about handicap. RR's candidate too would have been hot air ballooning riffs leads it's all relative.

I am a great admirer of Hendrix and saw him live in '68 and '69 .... amazing what some can do when they can't walk, think or see straight. Very innovative in the studio as well.

Sorry Martin but I do think that video is drug-induced indulgence and prefer him when he is not completely making it up as he goes along.

There are so many great guitar solos. I could never rate them from 1-100. Each is a masterpiece on its own.
But hands down, the most innovative, talking to you, powerful , technically masterful and music to the ear is........
Jimmy hendrix. All along the watch tower
All those other guys, love them to bits from Hank to Ted ( god bless the lunatic ) Nugent.
Absolutely enjoy it all.
