It depends on the coloration you are trying to achieve. The color used here

or here
http://msdozerscorner.coolthaihouse.com/msdozerspics/thumbnails.php?album=10&page=2

was achieved with regular grey cement.

I`m thinking of using similar render colours for the lower skirt around our walls: Can the Dozer please explain the method which worked to prevent block outlines from showing through the render...a double coat?

The solution to the block outline was to leave the initial render rough coat dry first (we left it for about a week) and then follow up with a skim coat with dye pigment mixed in.

recently i added a bag of black iron oxide to 1/2 a bag of regular cement and was not pleased with the outcome. it only rendered a darker grey...was hoping for black

Yes you're right, that album has somehow been deleted. It will be restored sometime soon.

There have been a number of photo albums removed by members.

That link could have been to one of them.

Like i'v tell in an other post .i am very interesting by add color direct in the ciment for the final render !

Where can I buy some color like this ? Is it more expensive to do this way that to paint after ?

Do you thinck that Thai workers will be able to do ?

Is it difficult to work with it ?

Thanck you :)

my local building shop had it for 100bht but found it at home pro for 50bht per bag

there are about 6 colors to choose from and you can combine them if you wish

easy to use but it seams trial and error is the only way to arrive at your desired color

simply mix the powder into the cement

It must be difficult to get the same color every where...if need to mix to the "new" ciment preparation every time !!!

How to get uniform color every where ???

keep notes of the colors and amounts you used in the batch you liked

then just replicate that recipe where needed

its just finding your desired color recipe that is the trial and error part

remember the color will be lighter when dry so have patience :)

On the pic that was copied into this thread... that was before we figured out how to not get the blocks outlines to show. Here is a link to the page where this is shownhttp://msdozerscorner.coolthaihouse.com/msdozerspics/thumbnails.php?album=10&page=2

On the bad link/links some albums inadvertently got removed during the last upgrade which impacted a number of links throughout the forum. There is a auto restore program which needed upgrading before the missing links will be restored. I will post a note in announcements once the auto restore is working. Please continue to note any broken links.

Hum, I don't see how to do that.. with the massive amount of render i will need for the house !

I don't see the worker put the powder into 100 kg to see how it's work ! and then if color not good ? put that away ???
because if we try in 1 kg for sure will not be the same color that 100 kg...so I thinck will be too difficult ! ;))
