Hi all

Names George and I am from the UK. Started off life as a carpenter mainly internal work and roofing.

I've been inThailand for 15 years and still learning about Thailand.

Currently living in Bangkok with my long term girlfriend we intend to build a 2 bedroom house in her village in Sakhon Nakhon.

We already have the land which is 542 sq mts, a gift from her parents.

I've done my fair share of redesigning and gutting condos but building a house from scratch is something new to me.

Came across this site when looking around for landfill info and liked the fact so many are willing to help others.

Cheers

Welcome.

You have the right attitude.

My suggestion would be to read some of the building stories so that you can see the hows, whys and wherefores plus many of the do's and don'ts.
The don'ts are the important things to note down. I read some building stories before I started and had a few A4's of stuff to watch out for.

Good luck and keep us posted.

 There are but I don't recommend reading my building story because it's just too long.

Also agree with fredlk "it's just too long"
It's not who you know, it's whom you know.

No mention of a bright star in the sky and three wise men ... maybe you'll find those here; plus one or two who just think they are :P

Welcome to the forum George ... good to have another Brit :)

Yep! Welcome, George and enjoy your stay.

I don't have much to add, as I'm still a newbie, myself, and waiting to do a build - in the near future, I hope.

Plenty of good advice available on this forum - a lot of it seems to be "Watch out!" or something similar... :D

Have fun & Cheers
