Hi,I have known about thailand since 1971 when I was in the airforce stationed at udonthani. In the future I would like A house built near korat. It's on A small piece of land 14X14 meters.I would like to know some decent builders in the area so I can start planning this.

Hi trilled and welcome to the forum. Moved this post to its own thread as it didn't seem to have much to do with the one it was posted on. Keep us posted on your future build.

thrilled welcome, I'm just finishing my build in Korat now, P.M me if you would like, we are very happy with it so far and its been
a very stress free experience thus far... (completion 2 weeks) started 1st week in Feb, 440 sq mtrs under roof, would of finished a few weeks ago but I changed a few things and added a 2mtr wall around 3 sides, so good work at a good pace.. Allways men on site...

P.S Still looking for someone to do our sprinkler system and landscaping if anyone has a contact? quite a large job as its over 2 rai so might even suit someone from another area to come have a look at it.. Cheers

tothemark will add some picks when I get a bit of time over the next few days, its sounds bigger than it looks really. As its 2 story with 4 terraces,
one off the front entrance, another one at the front right hand side of the house coming off the dining area, one off the main bedroom upstairs and a large one off the back 5mtrs by 11 mtrs all under the main roof.. because of the weather and being a Aussie we spend a lot of time outside.

Then there is a detached double carport with storage area and with that there is a guest room and bathroom included. I got that design for that off chiangmaiexpat on this forum, hope he doesn't mind. :D

I got the 440 mtrs2 off the bill from the ceiling fixer but would think the floor area is 330 to 350 mtrs2 .. Arr!!! I just twigged I should of not said under roof  I meant 440 mts of ceiling board...

Still its a simple design and very family friendly and will be great for entertaining..

Hi geordie, as we haven't moved in yet, (will do when I get home from this swing) we haven't found too many things,

but there is a colume (pier)down stairs that is in the middle of a open area, nobody picked it up and should of been designed

with a carry beam to iliminate that one, and the roof tiles I love but as the roof pitch of the back terrace is so low in driving rain

we get a little water in under the tiles so the builder has got a company to spray in insolation under the roof to seal it, at his own cost..

xxxx a few general pics

Guest bathrooms are fairly standard.

Our ensuite ( I love black) looks better than the pics, added 500mm each way to the bathroom and still the area
seems a bit small to me.. great rain head shower thou..

Stair tiles are the same as what is thru out the upper floor. Gone for stainless that is simple and modern I hope in design..

Had a viod between the front terraces so in goes a fish pond, I hope suitable for a couple of Koi if not have to be plain old gold fish..

Still a bit to be done yet but going well... All the sandstone and sandwash paths will be sealed so should come up allright.

Builders are packing up and just the painter and his wife left tidying up now.
When it dries out will be looking at driveways and gates. Looking at paving like Max&Bees (love the pavers)
but have only seen basic styles of cement pavers here, a possible trip to bangers to scout out some I think..
