I thought I'd introduce myself .I'm a small building contractor in Calif bay area .A friend just moved to Jom Tien and said I should go . It must be nice there but what opportunities for someone like me? I'm in my mid 50s ,I like to build,design ,listen to 40s swing music,jazz and

Hi Bob,

By all means go. You're still young enough to get something started over there so long as you have patience. The pace is somewhat slower than we're used to in the US but it's a fantastic country.

fantastic country, yes. much different from overseas (in a good way), best for retirement living (ie you already have enough to live on). cost of living isn't expensive.
