It's not a good idea to face anything south in this climate. The south side should have no windows or as few as possible and an unshaded swimming pool might be too hot to use at times.

Thanks.

North is looking towards the Septic Tanks (the two pink dots) and south is looking towards the Electricity Pole (Red dot)

You will see that in my south facing verion (B4Q), I have a type of pergola planned at the end of the long section (this section is a single level main living area with doors facing onto the pool), to shade those main entrance doros on the south face. The other structure further south will be a two level structure so it should also add shade the long living area

I also plan to have a type of membrane shade structure over half of the pool area, which should also provide shade the three slidng large door openings that face directly onto the pool area.

regards

I have upgraded my temporay hut adding flowers and a downstairs and a toilet (RHS).

Last month I got my tap water on, installed a tank/filter, and next week I get my electrical power pole and meter on.

Its not a build yet.

There's some land near to where you are pipoz that has just been cleared. Facing the road to Sri Thani. Asking price 1.4M baht a Rai.

Yesterday my wife was talking to our rear neighbour. She said a plot next to her, probably 0.5 of a Rai had gone for 1.0M baht and it's directly under the O/H power lines.

Hi Galee

Are you referring to the land that faces/abuts onto the main road asphalt that runs past Sri Thani entrance and goes back up towards Udon Thani, as there are several plots on the side of that main raod ( the 2 x single lane asphalt road) that have recently been cleared.

Sent you a PM.

I will be in Udon Thani on 20 December for a few days, are you arond then

Regards

Search for landfilling around Saraburi / Pakchong

Postby hvdo » Fri Dec 14, 2012 9:20 pm

Hi Pipoz,

Seem you have a lot of experience in the field of landfilling.
Could you give me a few hints where I can find reliable landfilling companies or -even better- maybe you know some companies which could do this job.
The land is south of Pakchong, in Khao Yai area. Need soil approx 900 m3. The land is sloped down 3m. Only 6-wheel trucks allowed.

Thanks,
Harry

Hi Tanaka, the land which is actually a little bit less than 2 Rai, as it measures out to 3,149m2, has cost me all up TB 833,000 with all transfer and any other Gov costs are included in that.

The TB 65,000 to fill the first Rai was an extra cost after the purchase. The humpy cost about TB 7,000

So all up to date TB 833,000 + 65,000 + 7,000 = TB 905,000 for what is in the pictures

I have bought a plot of land in Non Sung, Udon Thani (behind Chaiyaporn school). it is 848m2 approx 20m x 40m level ground, water and electricity on site. about 200 metre from Main road. full Chanote 4, price paid 550,000 thb
Now I need some help, I will be in Udon for a few weeks in april while I am there I would like to get the plot cleared and filled, (a few trees need removing and it needs about 1/2 metre raising) I would like to get the ball rolling before I come over, is there anyone who can give me name and phone number of a reliable contractor who I or the Thai wife could contact.
Thanks
Daryl

Hi dazzer.

Try this number. 0899418017. Ladies name is Sang. I'm using her for my current build and used her to clear land previously.

Personally I'm anti in-fill unless it's absolutely necessary, ie, been paddy field or prone to flooding. Much prefer to build off ground level. Regarding clearing land. I'd wait until your ready to start building. You'd be surprised how quickly it grows back.

Thanks Galee for info and advice, Have Spoken to the contact that you suggested, To fill half Rai up 1/2 metre they want between 50-60k thb and between 5-10k thb to clear trees. I think TW made the mistake of telling them she was in UK at the moment, hence stupid farang price. Looking at at previous post by Pipoz he had one Rai cleared of trees and filled 1/2 metre for 65k thb, hopefully when he returns to Udon he can give me a the name of the contractor that done his fill.

Ouch. Not cheap. She does charge different prices for different grades of in-fill. I've recently had some expensive in-fill to be used for the car port/driveway. It's the red type that compacts well. General in-fill for raising land level should be around 500-600 a lorry.

Dazzer, 1/2 filled 1/2 m for TB 60K is too much.

Four weeks back when I was there I spoke with the Contractor who was filling some land over behind my plot and asked him what he was charging and he quoted to me
TB500 for a 6 wheeler truck = Approx TB 100 per m3
TB 900 for a 10 wheeler truck = Approx TB 90 per m3

which is a more than what I paid per m3 some 9 months back, but I got mine at a very good price then and now regret not having filled the two Rai at that time.

It appears that market rate for Fill is about TB 90 per m3, delivered, these days. He was delivering and speading the fill material which apperaed to be Quality/Grade 3 -2, was a red clay mix (it had no vegitation in it). I am guessing he was charging another TB 3000 for the Tractor that he had for the the two days it took him to level it.

By my calculation you need 400m3 (800 m2 x 0.5m), which should equate to around 44No large 10 wheeler trucks, plus say another 12% for bulking up factor = 50 No large 10 wheeler truck loads or TB 45,000 in fil material and maybe TB 3000 for the Tractor = All up TB 48,000 at todays prices.

Thanks Pipoz for estimate price. My TW thought the same that it was expensive. will wait until you get back to Udon and hopefully can find me a contractor with a more realistic price,
cheers Dazzer.
