Surin Village home

Postby gthman » Tue Jul 14, 2015 2:17 pm

Hello,

Just starting on the planning for a build starting around November... will be in a village about 20k outside of Surin.

The land is not huge - about 16 meters by 60 meters - so it will be a long and narrow structure.

We have the basic plan for the interior pretty much worked out. Still need a bit more of refinements, but basically good we think. See photo... looks OK?

The outside drawing is still processing, but should be done fairly soon. I'll post it when done.

Welcome ... good to hear about a new build.

Maybe you could tell us a little more about yourself as an intro viewforum.php?f=4 .

Thanks - hope it goes well....

Though, I won't be too involved in the build besides the financing, budgeting, general design... The significant other will be dealing with the actual build.

Hi,

I'm in HK - have been here for some 20 years... Visit in Thailand very frequently and will eventually make the move, but the money is in hk for me for now. This home is on my tg land, mother-in-law's old wooden home will get taken down and this place will be there for her and us when visiting... and eventually living when i can escape from hk...

Loook Nice.
We will start building in Tungwang Buriram on November 11.
That was desided to be "good day" :-)
Plan to finish around end april.
Hopefully we both only will meet manageable Challenges :-)

Hello,

Looks like we are on about the same time frame - though not sure if tg has consulted or will bother with the lucky day approach for the build - i think we are planning on November 1 for breaking soil. And, i was told by the site manager (TG) that they (5 local villagers) should be able to finish in about 3 months... I think the structure should be doable, but probably not all the fittings and things as well - we shall see!

I'm off to USA this next week and then back to hk and down to surin middle of august. Will be scouting out materials at that time... if you know good sources in buriram or surin areas please advise! I will stop by Buriram, Ruangsangthai Hardware as it was recommended in one of the threads on cth...

Is your place near to buriram city?

Did visit Ruangsanthai last time in Thailand and they have a lot to offer.
Also have in Buriram the standard house-chain stores.
Satuek is about 35 kilomters to north from Buriram ( just ca 5 kilometers north for airport) and then we are opposite to obator Tungwang, 14 kilometers to east for Satuek.
