There's been a little bit of a hiatus due to replacing my iPad
Anyway continuing with October;

The next step will be a paint room behind the workshop and SWMBO is going to build a washing area and toilet in the banana jungle

This is a rendition of a sketchup model proposed by the architect.

But because the architect wants them to start at the same level and the house is on a raised mound this one is a little deeper than the others! :)

SWMBO wants an outside toilet and clothes washing area, originally an outside kitchen and washing area and toilet. So the foundations are going in.

The paint room is progressing well

SWMBO's outside toilet and washing area is also doing well

SWMBO decided that the original plan to have an outside kitchen is getting revived as the building was just too good so she is having a separate small toilet constructed in a corner of our land that doesn't do well for plants due to the eucalyptus trees .

Some new information the big I beams are not related to the crane that will be coming later. They are going to be bridging the parking area and car ramp. I'm not sure about the smaller ones

Hi Jerome, can I ask where you purchased, or where you recommend in the Udon Area to purchase, I/H beams?

Thanks!

Our builder got the best price from the steel shop on Nittayo road about 100 to 200 metres before the ring road coming into Udon.

Cannot tell from the pictures, but does not appear what I was expecting. Is there a rubber/waterproof liner underneath the dry pack? Just wanting to get prepared for the unexpected again. Normally, I would provide a slight slope to the floor (either when pouring the concrete or with some asphalt roofing shingles) tapering down to the drain, then cover the floor and up high enough to cover any shower seats, but at least a foot or two off the floor. Then the dry pack or cement board would go on top of that (secured with screws), usually put some waterproofing membrane (roll on) on top of that for the walls and finally the tile.

I do intend for my bathrooms to be "wet" rooms as most Thai bathrooms that I have seen are.

Is there a short version of "Okay, but here is what we do in Thailand for showers"?

TIA,
-k-
