Building our house in Putthaisong (Buriram)

Postby vonked » Wed Jun 05, 2013 1:50 pm

Hello all,

Last week we made the first steps on our property. It will be a project over several years .
There were several palm trees that I wanted to keep but the were in the wrong position.
All (11) removed now and in place so they can recover and grow.
Next week I want to begin with levelling the area. I guess about 150 6 wheelers of dirt fill have to get in.
I was wondering about the drain fields that I draw in my design. Are they big enough?
Is it wise to build in these drain fields during the process of dirt filling and levelling?
Maybe you could also give some thoughts or concerns about the rest of my design.
Shoot.

See my drawing,

Ed

Your plan looks OK, over time you may make changes, for now I would get the site prepared and see what happens in the raining season, surface water from the land and roofs may make you change your plans, utimately you need to get excess water off your land to a common drain area is one exists. You will have plenty of rubbish that needs to be cleaned up after building and this would be a good time to put your soak away areas for your grey water. Make sure your buildings are high enough to never have a problem if you get a sudden flash flood after a heavy rain storm or two[*] :D

Are you saying that the buildings must be more high than the property itself?

Definitely a wise move however the property is situated , you don't want even your roof water or surrounding your house laying or draining into your foundations. That's even if you are in a non flood area.

Your top soil looks good before you start filling it better to remove to another area and put it back later on top of the fill, top soil is hard to find and expensive :D [*]
