Building an annex to a town house in BKK

Postby pskog » Mon Jan 07, 2008 4:41 pm

We started on the beginning of December to build an annex to a town house what is on 36 sq wah land. Because our house is located at end of the row and there was 3 meter unused land between the house and the fence we decided to build little more. Original house is a 2-storey 80 m2. One big room + bathroom on downstairs and 2 rooms + bathroom on upstairs.

By new planning there will be 4 rooms upstairs + balcony and 4 room downstairs + patio. Total living area will be 150 m2 + small garden and car port. Outside of the fence is a parking place for 3 cars.

So far everything has been going as planned and the house should be ready to move in on beginning of the March.

Welcome to the forum. Remodels can be tricky -- let us know how it goes and post some pics if you have them!

Thanks :)
It's nice to be here :!:

I have created an album at Photo Gallery: pskog
There are some plans and 3D pictures and photos taken during construction.
I'll add more during building time.

Great pics, thanks. Question about the bore holes, was the initial foundation not strong and then they came in a drilled piles and attached the existing foundation to the newly driven piles? Or the piles are just to support the second story addon? Must be poor soil conditions if they had to go down 21m. Would be interested in seeing more pics of this part and the finished project when done.

Love your shot of the house about to fall down, yes, saving 6000 early on in the project isn't really a good idea if it leads to this.

New piling is for add-on foundation. Main building is piled to the same level.

Soil conditions are poor in our area. Old shrimp farms and river bed silt going down to 19-21 m.

More pixs fill follow...
