steel/aluminum window frames

Postby tutsi » Wed Oct 26, 2005 3:53 pm

anyone had metal window frames fabricated locally? The property we purchased came with aluminum louvred windows which are junk. Am thinking about having steel or aluminum sliding windows fabricated locally..we had two alum. sliding glass doors done and they turned out OK.

Any suggestions or stories to relate?

aluminum windows

For the typical aluminum window installation a company will come to the site and get an exact measurement of the window openings and then cut and assemble the windows on site. They don't produce it off a house plan because the houses are not built exactly according to the plan. The ones I've seen done look to be pretty good, but don't know of any specific companies.

Thanks for the tip that yellow pages is incredible. All those years spent wondering what that big yellow book was for.
