Got back last week. There's been some rain here. Pool is halfway full now.
Have to leave again this week, so nothing will happen in the next 2 months, except for more water.

be back.

Been away for a while and somewhat longer.

But back to business.
Yep I recently hit the jackpot and have a new group - in this case you can even say team- at work. If you would tell me 6 months ago that there realy are good poolbuilders in th. I would just smile and move on. But that has changed this month. There are very clever and good poolbuilders in th. And I'm having them on site.
They come from far. As my mother always said that good things come from far away, this time I confirm.
I had 3 major issues when they started to work. They were all solved within 5 minutes. And so it happened.
It would take a month to finish the pool they said. They started on the 1-st. Soon halfway. Maybe it will be some longer due to me still changing plans and the rain that started again.
And I went for granite top all around. Which he would cut and round-off himself but that takes a long time to do. I'll wait and see. Can't do much more than zip the G&T anyway nowadays.

Remember the stairs I decided to make in at the front? See the result.

My last pic showed the stairs in rendering.
When i left off in may it looked like this:

As in may

And that is where I took off and other more skillef hands took over.

And then after some work:

Follwed by this:

Just before filling it up

And after filling it up:

Now setup where to render:

And this one is next:

My pool? The structural work of the technical room and the "shower-toilet" room have been completed since July.
And since nothing :|. Restarting early December or next year. Possible decision next week.
Anyway new tiles and travertine have been ordered. I will go for "travertine" on the top all around and I will also put a variable speed filtration pump .

Almost .....

Yesterday last cleaning of every remaining stain that came from the grouting and then the pool was finished. As far as that goes for the builders. They went with the next job: to render the walls.

Now it is up to me when water can be added. Still need to connect the return pipes inside the overflow tank. Not really looking forward to going in there.
Then bring 8 2" waterpipes, 1 electricity and earthing pipe, and 2 air pipes in the pumproom.
Then connect it all in there and set up some electric box. Knowing myself it will be a very practical solution, totally different from any poolconstruction company. Will have more valves than a WWII submarine.
Got myself a 3hp 1000l/min pump (not for pools, just for shoving water around) and a 1.5hp for the filtration.
Got a 27" sandfilter. Expected flow about 16m3/hour.
Sandfilter is easy to figure out what you need. Just measure your door, windows and roof and then the biggest diameter filter you can get in. In my case 27". Rather small, so not need a big pump then.
The 3hp has 3" in&out so in order to get enough water I guess I always need to have at least 2 2" pipes fully open on both sides.
Will be interesting to see all this working. Stay tuned.

Tip: Have your pumpsetup ready before finishing the concrete stuff outside. Cause you want to fill it up. Although the mosaic glass manufacturer writes you should wait 20 days before filling the pool. My kind of guy.

Now you want see the result of 23 months of hard labour and an unnumerous number of 1l bottles containing Gilbeys gin, look at the pictures.

Cheers.

Hi Rdteth.

Your pool is beautiful! :)

The small basin in the middle is for the cool cans?

I'm <inappropriate language removed - mod> sick and tired of this forum where I cannot send any pm's or get errormsg because emailadresses for dozer do not exist.

I'm done here.

Goodbye

Rdteth, with all due respect, yes, PM’s can be frustrating and slow, but at the same time, have a look at every page here and let me know if you find any sponsors, advertisement, links to all kind of rubbish and so on except that small bar at the top..

In fact, for me it’s the only webpage I know and use that is almost totally free of it!

Given how fast the website is, that means a significant investment in hardware and software that is offered absolutely free for all to use. There’s sure shortcomings, but put into perspective, I think it’s well worth the ‘trade-off’.
And don’t forget the moderators Who also spend their time for free and do a fantastic job keeping this website clean and civil..

Really hope you change your mind, as your pool looks fantastic as it is and I really like to see it filled with water.

Cheers,
Luc

The PM function is restricted to people who have a minimum number of posts however that should not effect you.

While Dozer is the administrator there are 3 active moderators who can probably solve problems if reported.
AFIK There is no direct email contact for any member at the moment.

You have not made any report to the best of my knowledge. We are here to assist as and when we can but we can only act when problems are reported.
