Example of Thai brick work. Bricks tied to columns by means of drilling into concrete and inserting steel rods. Note the horizontal 'beam' on the other side of the scaffolding, this is re-infirced and adds strength.Thaifu T

Something I hadn't picked up from the original plans. Patio is 40cms below the house floor level. Having this raised so the drop is only 10cms. Some sort of drop is recommended to cater for the wet season.Thaifu T

Living room begins to take shape. Notice the gap in the right hand wall. Later this is filled with re-inforced concrete to add stability.Thaifu T

Tiles are delivered. Metal battens are to the right of the tiles. Note the cockerel in the cage. For those unfamiliar with this neck of the woods (sorry) 'Chicken Boxing, as my g/f calls it (aka Cock Fighting) is very popular in Thailand - it's even televised. Before you report me to the RSPCA, the birds do not have spurs attached and to the best of my knowledge do not get killed. I later demanded they were taken from site.Thaifu T

More steel work on the roof - and all without a safety net. Health and Safety in the UK would have a field day. Also when doing the welding they don't bother with goggles - sun glasses are just as good!!!!!!!!! I think the white sticks will be coming out in a few years.Thaifu T
